The Change

6:00 AM. Alarm.

New day. Today I will make it. I’ll go out running for 30 minutes.

Morning has quickly passed, and suddenly it’s 9:00.

Time for coffee.

December in Sweden is dark, cold, and rainy. You don’t want to see the complete picture. Coffee is the thing of the day — a matter of survival.

Who would be running after having a cappuccino?

11:00 AM. Meetings back-to-back.

It’s before Christmas, and as in every good company, my workload has raised from 120% to 150%.

After lunch, it’s not much of a time to go running. And lunch we need, right?

I think you have a picture of how the afternoon looked like.

It is evening now, and I’m sitting here and writing this story. What do I hear in the back of my mind?

“Running. Running. Today again, no running.”

Here is the truth. I don’t need coffee. Missing a lunch one day would not kill me, and there is a possibility to reject some meetings.

It’s just unbelievably hard to decide and commit…
